We worked with Tribal Group and Volkswagen to develop the VW virtual car showroom, built with augmented reality for a cutting-edge web experience. Our custom-built AR technology workflow enabled customers to view and customize cars through their mobile devices, as well as connect them with an option to arrange a test drive or even buy the vehicle online.
The inaugural launch of Volkswagen's virtual showroom in 2020 showcased their latest lineup of compact SUVs, resulting in an unprecedented surge in website traffic. Notably, their web traffic skyrocketed by an impressive 18% throughout 2020. Furthermore, the post-launch quarter witnessed exceptional online sales, with over 900 cars and service packages, translating to a staggering value of more than $28 million USD.
In 2021 we released the Amarok V6 W‑Series with even higher fidelity visuals built with animation and sound effects for AR training sessions to further enhance the online experience.
